Applewood is a Retirement Residence that gives people a sense of belonging. It has been serving the community proudly for over a decade.
Applewood has 106 suites and boasts either, a walk-out patio or balcony for each one. The ability to sit and enjoy the sunshine just outside your door is quite an attraction. Residents may also stroll in the gardens at the rear or sit in the gazebo to admire the colorful floral displays. A small vegetable patch gives earnest gardeners the opportunity to retain their skills. While residents are encouraged to live an independent life, as they would in an apartment, there is a skilled and well-trained staff to provide the necessary care required. Whatever the level of assistance, it comes to our Resident - there is no special floor for those who may have an ailment. This can be from Supportive to our 'Aging-in-Place' program with "A-la-Carte" Services.
Living at Applewood Retirement Residence is a social world. You may make new friends as well as invite old friends and family to visit or for lunch. There is a "Friendship Room" that is used specifically to cater to our visiting guests and for family celebrations. A busy activity calendar encompasses outings for shopping, sightseeing, card games and music soirees. There are usually 3 activities planned per day - events that include guest speakers, musicians, wine and cheese evenings. Our van takes our Residents to various shopping malls, banks, drug store, etc....and the city bus stops right outside our front door.
Executive Director - Theresa Pagett brings a wealth of experience to the position. A friend to all the Residents and an advisor to all families. Theresa leads by example and all her staff respect and enjoy her style.
Kingsway Arms at Applewood Retirement Residence prides itself on offering a new lifestyle for Seniors - not a home to just sit around. With a new wellness program promoting health and excercise, Seniors can fully enjoy the latter years. With excercises and trips to the pool, Applewood Residents embrace the new thinking in Retirement Living.
